About Lumen
We're a small local outfit based in Fremantle. That's Rory in the photo with his 2006 Subaru Forester — his pride and joy and the reason this all started.
Headlights were one of the first things he tackled on it. After a lot of trial and error — and a lot of borrowed family and neighbours' cars! — we found the perfect way to restore headlights that met the standard we were after.
Now we offer this service so you can feel safer while driving at night, in a good looking car too!
The steps of the job
Inspection & Protection
We check the condition of the headlights (deep scratches or chips cannot be repaired) and mask off the surrounding body panels.
Oxidation Removal
Using Cerakote wipes we remove most of the yellowing from the lights.
Sanding
All by hand, 400 through to 3000 grit to remove any other imperfections.
Polish
A plastic polish brings the clarity and gloss back.
Cerakote Ceramic Coating
The most important step — without it the headlights would yellow again within months. Genuine Cerakote ceramic UV coating for every job.
One price, one service, done the same way every time — $120 per vehicle, both headlights included.
The only extra charge is $30 for cars with bull bars due to the extra time required.
